DLOV Candidate Questionnaire - Audio/Visual Submission

The Democratic Latino Organization of Virginia (DLOV) invites Democratic Party candidates to participate in our 2025 endorsement process.

DLOV seeks to endorse candidates who not only share Democratic values, but who also understand, reflect, and advocate for the unique needs and lived experiences of Latino communities—especially immigrants and working families.

The first step in DLOV’s endorsement process is to complete the Candidate Questionnaire and covers:

  1. Core questions about why you’re running, your core values, the community you seek to represent, your approach to Latino engagement, and your commitment to standing up to MAGA-aligned Republican
  2. Office-specific questions for candidates running for the House of Delegates, Local Municipal offices, Local Constitutional offices, or School Board

Responses to core questions must be submitted through this short Google Form.

While candidate questionnaires will not be posted publicly, the DLOV Executive Board may highlight candidate responses that demonstrate authentic alignment with the needs and priorities of Latino communities across Virginia.

We are accepting candidate questionnaires on a rolling basis. To be considered for an early September 2025 endorsement announcement, candidates must submit their completed questionnaires by August 22, 2025. Submissions received after this date will still be considered for endorsement, but will be announced at a later time.

There is a real threat to democratic institutions from the far-right, including efforts by MAGA-aligned Republicans to undermine elections, restrict freedoms, and move toward authoritarian control at the local, state, and federal levels.

As an elected official (or if elected), how do you view your role in serving as an effective check against this rise of undemocratic and anti-American elements, and what principled actions will you take to safeguard democracy, protect vulnerable communities, and resist authoritarian policies?
