Digital Library of Georgia DPLA Conversion Project Application

Through a generous grant from the Knight Foundation, the Digital Library of Georgia (DLG) will be digitizing unpublished historic materials for inclusion in the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA). Both conversion and metadata creation costs will be absorbed by the project. DLG is seeking applications for digitization from the holders of the original content. Selections of materials or collections to digitize will be made in accordance with the Digital Library of Georgia's Collection Development Policy and will depend on the availability of resources and funding.

All digitization will be outsourced to Lyrasis, and any metadata created will be shared under a Creative Commons License Public Domain License (CC0, http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/) through the DLG's portal and the Digital Public Library of America. Master files and metadata will be placed in the DLG's archival storage and also be returned to the owners of the original material.

This form will allow you to nominate up to 5 collections.

Nominations are due by January 25, 2013.
