WBA Feedback: Webinars 2018
The WBA addresses bioenergy topics by way of insightful worldwide webinars, with presenters who are experts in their field. Our last three webinars dealt with biotrade and biomass availability worldwide. We intend to hold new, exciting webinars in 2018, and would like your feedback on topics that would be of interest to you. Please take a minute, choose one or more of our proposed topics, or suggest your own topic of interest, and forward your choices to WBA.

Please note that WBA charges an average of €100 to register for a webinar.

1. Bioenergy in a Low-oil-price World
Is the current low oil price an aberration, or are we in a new world of low fossil fuel prices? What will be the impact on bioenergy? This webinar will explore the issue of bioenergy growth from the point of view of manufacturers, buyers and developers, focusing on impacts in several regions such as Germany, US, Canada, and Austria, and encompassing transportation biofuels, heating markets, power markets, and others.

2. Socioeconomic Benefits of Bioenergy
Much has been written comparing economic growth and socioeconomic benefits of bioenergy, solar, wind, and other renewable energies. What are the facts? Are all these jobs real? This webinar will explore the actual economic growth of countries like Finland, Austria, Lithuania, and others as a result of bioenergy, and will look at potential in countries such as Turkey, Serbia, Ukraine and Hungary.

3. Best Practices in Sustainable Biomass Supply
Large and growing long-distance biomass supply is already in place for Canada and the US in wood pellets, and the Baltic in raw wood chips. To achieve renewable energy targets will require major growth in biomass supply. This webinar will look at issues and prospective supply from regions like Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Central and South America, Africa and Europe.
