Survey: Accessing LGBTQ Spaces
We've launched this survey to capture the experiences of Deaf and disabled LGBTQ people when trying to access community events and venues.

We know that many disabled LGBTQ people face problems accessing clubs, bars and events like Pride. Being shut out of these spaces due to lack of access has a big impact – more than entertainment venues, these are spaces where people make friends, meet partners and find community and belonging.

We’re also aware that LGBTQ venues and events across the country are under a great deal of pressure, with many closing down or struggling to stay afloat. Last year, a University College London report found that 58% of London’s LGBTQ venues had closed in the previous 10 years.

We want to ensure that Deaf and disabled LGBTQ people have access to important community spaces – and that venues and events have support and guidance they need to improve access, and see accessibility as a key component of their financial sustainability.

The survey is now open for responses until midnight on Tuesday 16 October. The results will be published later this year.
