ILWHack Mentor Signup

The Smart Data Hack takes place Monday 15th to Friday 19th February in the University of Edinburgh's Forrest Hill site. During the event, students work in teams on a challenge provided by one of the sponsors. The student projects involve a wide variety of data, approaches and technologies, and often require the students to skill up very rapidly. There's more information about the hack at http://smartdatahack.org

We are really keen to find mentors who can offer support to hack participants, In particular, it's valuable if you can help them with:

- fixing bugs
- pointing out resources
- understanding data
- generating ideas
- helping the group work together as a team

Mentors can either be physically present at Forrest Hill or can contribute remotely, e.g. via email, Skype, Twitter, Slack etc. It's also fine to only be available at certain times during the week.

If you provide your contact details and volunteer as a remote mentor, we'll put your contact details on the website, and also add you to our Slack #mentor channel.

Mentors are welcome to partake in free lunches and snacks all week :)
