2019 APIs Mobilize Application
It is APIs Mobilize's goal to empower our next generation of leaders with the knowledge and skills to become effective leaders in the community and encourage their consideration of careers in the public service sector.

Twenty-five junior and senior students from Los Angeles and Orange counties schools will be chosen to participate in a Five-week youth leadership program that will take place in July. The summer program consists of weekly seminars, which allow the participants to gain leadership skills and understand the democratic process through lectures by community leaders, elected officials, and veteran politicos. The youth leadership program is supported by Congresswoman Judy Chu, Congressman Ted Lieu, and Assembly Members: Ed Chau, Al Muratsuchi, Sharon Quirk-Silva, Patrick O'Donnell, and Speaker Anthony Rendon.

SEMINAR TOPICS:
• The importance of leadership and youth in government.
• Leadership skills training: public speaking and the power of effective negotiation.
• Hear and learn from high-level government relation professionals in the public policy and political arena.
• Business etiquette and all things about how to be successful.
• Legislative process 101 and Advocacy.
• Campaign and voter registration and youth driven advocacy campaign.

PROGRAM DATES:
• All Saturdays: July 13, July 20, July 27, August 3, and August 10
• August 3rd is the last day and the Program Graduation Luncheon
• Each session runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the East Los Angeles Community College.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
• A desire to learn and grow as an individual.
• An interest in public service and community involvement.
​• Rising High School Junior or Senior.
• A completed application (including submitting the following two items below)
