Elementary: Application to Participate in Extended Campus Learning January-May 2021
As a District, we believe that the best place for students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally is at school with their peers and our dedicated staff. We realize that for some families, there are circumstances that make being on campus very difficult. For families who are required for medical reasons and for those who wish to continue at-home, extended campus learning will be made available for the second semester of the school year.
1. Elementary families will complete this “application to participate in extended campus learning” form between November 10 - December 1. A building representative will contact the family to finalize the application by December 15.
2. When applying for extended campus learning, the family is committing to learning at home for the rest of the school year. This is to assist with staffing, planning, and grading. Families will not be allowed to change their placement once the semester begins.
3. Attendance will be taken daily, and school/state attendance policies will be followed. This includes working with the county attorney for excessive absenteeism & truancy.
4. Students who are attending school on campus and who become ill or are asked to quarantine for 14 days or less will continue to work with their assigned classroom teacher following traditional illness procedures and policies. Illnesses beyond 14 days will be handled on an individual basis, starting with a conference with the building principal.
