Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a group with Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity. Working on a Habitat project is a great way for groups from local churches, businesses, sports teams, and other organizations to come together and build something positive. Currently, groups can participate at our ReStore (retail store) and with our Build Team. Please note that on a single day, there is usually a maximum of 10 participants per group. Multiple days may be possible for larger groups.
GROUP/TEAM LEADERS: Please complete this form in its entirety to begin the process of scheduling a day for your group. Additionally, we ask that you read our Volunteer Handbook (https://fredrestore.org/documents/2/volunteer-handbook-2017.pdf) and share it with your team so they can understand our volunteer policies and expectations..
Volunteer opportunities are generally available Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with variable times at the ReStore (Retail Store);
Build Team opportunities for groups are Tuesday through Saturday for the full day from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm (unless otherwise specified). Each group must designate a Team Leader and an alternate. Saturday is the most popular day and spaces fill up fast! PLEASE PLAN AT LEAST 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL BUILD DAY ACTIVITIES. Additionally, we ask that each group arrange to provide lunch for its members, or have members bring their own meals. Your group will be scheduled at the earliest opening, WHICH MAY BE SEVERAL MONTHS FROM THE TIME INTEREST IS INDICATED. Contact us as early as possible to ensure that you receive a date within your desired time frame.
Although we do not have a cancellation policy, we ask that your team makes a commitment to participate on the day(s) that you signed up for. If you feel that your team cannot fulfill your commitment, please be considerate and contact us no later than 10 days before your activity. That will allow us time to find another available group.
