Seattle Mask Brigade: N-95 Mask Donations
Hi -- Local Seattle hospitals are out or rapidly running out of N-95 "respirator" masks (see below). These are masks you may have bought for painting projects with fumes, for blocking smoke inhalation, or for an emergency kit. Health care workers are on the front lines of saving lives, and to keep them safe they need these masks NOW.

Please check your supplies and if you have *any* unused masks, leave your address below and we will arrange for a volunteer to collect the masks from outside your door and get them to local health care workers. Donations before 9am (or so) will usually be picked up that day.

Sealed packages are best, but if you have unused masks but in opened packages, we will still contribute them to be used if possible, but please leave a note with your masks in a bag (1) verifying that they've not been used and (2) any expiration date you can find so that health care teams can decide on the appropriate level of risk. Before handling any of the masks, please wash your hands for 20-30 seconds with soap!

If you are adding extra instructions for pickup, please make sure you leave contact info so volunteers can coordinate with you. We are not collecting emails to protect your privacy and don't have a way to get back to you if something goes wrong.

Also, we currently only have people collecting in the Seattle area; if you are outside a 25 minute (no traffic) drive from Seattle, we have a hard time arranging pickup. Please consider donating directly to a local hospital or nursing home, though call first to make sure they can handle your donation. There are some links on the Seattle Mask Brigade website (https://sites.google.com/view/seattle-mask-donations/)

There is a website where people can volunteer for pick-ups, or, request masks if they're a health care worker or organization. Please share with any health care folks you know so we can protect as many people as possible: https://sites.google.com/view/seattle-mask-donations/

3/20: 2:00pm Update: Today's volunteers are mostly finished with pickups for the day. More will be doing rounds tomorrow. We've had about 2000 donations so far, and have been continuously distributing.
3/18 11:00am Update: We have 5 volunteer drivers dispatched to pick up over 300 masks!! They'll be doing pickups in the next few hours and will be dropping off at two locations, where people are standing by to take to a local ICU. Thanks everyone!!!! If you are filling out this form now, we will do another round of pickups tomorrow morning.
3/17 11:30pm Update: First pickups expected to be before noon on Wednesday March 18.
