TreeFolks Young Professionals Executive Committee Application
As a TreeFolks Young Professionals (YP) volunteer executive committee member, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with people who are passionate about supporting TreeFolks’ mission to “build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees”:

Who are we looking for?
  • Young Professionals (aka folks in their 20s and 30s living in/near Austin) passionate about the environment
  • Organization, communication, and leadership skills (and/or those looking to practice theirs!)
  • No prior experience with TreeFolks Young Professionals required
Expectations:
  • Time commitment of 1-3 hours per week depending on event schedule
  • Participate on the Executive Committee for at least 6 months
  • Maintain active communication with other Executive Committee members on email/Slack (or chosen tool)
What is the Executive Committee vs Core Team vs a TreeFolksYP Member?
  • The Executive Committee is replacing President/Vice President duties
  • TreeFolksYP members (age 21-40ish - https://treefolks.org/yp) support TreeFolks with an annual donation of $20+ (~140 members)
  • TreeFolks Young Professionals are lead by Core Team volunteers (~30 members)
  • The Core Team meets to plan TreeFolksYP events and has Chairs with various responsibilities (ex: Membership, Advocacy, Volunteer, Social Media, etc)
  • The Core Team is managed by the Executive Committee (3-5 members)
Roles of the Executive Committee Include:
  • Schedule and lead Core Team meetings
  • Manage Core Team applications/members and their onboarding
  • Determine available Chair positions and who fills them
  • Ensure TreeFolksYP maintains a full calendar of events
  • Finalize goals and track progress
  • Coordinate with TreeFolks Board and Staff
