As a condition of enrolment, students of Nicz Dansation must adhere to this code of conduct in order to protect our dancers, staff, and the vibrant community we foster. We take pride in our school's culture, and have put these measures in place so that all students and parents/guardians can enjoy the dance journey!

Dancers and Parents/Guardians/Families must adhere to all regulations outlined in the Nicz Dansation Prospectus. This includes correct punctuality, attendance, and all other regulations. Nicz Dansation reserves the right to terminate any student’s enrolment at any time for misconduct or inappropriate actions by either the student or respective parent(s)/guardian(s).

TO STUDENTS….
It is important that you make a conscious and dedicated commitment to your classes. Each week, please come to your class prepared and eager to learn. Class time is your chance to leave the outside world behind you and focus on yourself and your passion! Arrive at your class ready to learn from your teachers, ready to work as hard and as consistently as you can. Use each class as an opportunity to grow and to become better at what you love to do. Please respect your teachers. Listen to feedback, guidance, focus during your stretch time and make a mind body connection when working on strengthening your technique. Listen to your teachers instructions and corrections given, whether it’s directed at you or another dancer. A correction shows you how much a teacher cares about you and your progress as a dancer and helps you grow, evolve, learn and improve. Senior Students - Please ensure you are a role model for our younger students. Mobile phones are to be switched to silent and are not to be used during class time unless permission is given from their teacher or an emergency. All students are to be punctual to every class. If a student is late and misses warm up, they may be asked to watch the rest of the class. Warming up is the most important component of class to avoid the risk of injury.

TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS….
Our studio prides itself on being a dance family and having a positive atmosphere and inclusive environment. Co-operation and kindness between all parents/guardians is expected. As adults, we lead by example for the students. Showing respect for other parents, the students, and the school as a whole, makes an important impression on the children watching us. You are your young persons most important role model. For new parents/guardians to the school, we welcome you to watch your young persons first class. We believe students need to feel 100% comfortable in the environment and surroundings, with a new teacher and peers. We also know how important it is that parents get to see how we teach and interact with our students before deciding that we are the right school and fit for your young person/you. Once your young person is comfortable, parents/guardians can 'drop and go' or wait in foyer areas.

BULLYING POLICY
All students are to treat their teachers and fellow peers with the utmost respect. Misbehaviour towards anyone will not be tolerated and your enrolment at Nicz will be cancelled effective immediately. The following will not be tolerated in person, via email, via text messaging or via the internet, verbal abuse or shouting, physical abuse, excluding or isolating a person, psychological harassment, humiliating a person through sarcasm, criticism or insults, ignoring or belittling a person’s contribution or opinion. Where any persons feel that they are the victim of bullying, they should discuss the matter directly with the person/people concerned and request an end to the behaviour. Should this approach fail, or be inappropriate, the victim can contact Nicola Purcell and Katrina Burke for assistance in resolving the matter. Nicz Dansation teachers and staff take their roles as mentors, role models and teachers in your young persons life very seriously.

DUTY OF CARE / CHILD SAFETY
Due care will be a priority for each and every student whilst they are in class. In case of illness or injury where parents (if applicable) are not contactable, we will seek medical advice and act accordingly in the best interest of the student. Any cost will be incurred by the parent/guardian. Nicz Dansation takes no responsibility for the loss or damage to personal property. Every single endeavour is made to make sure students are reunited with their parent/guardian after class. Students are not officially supervised outside of their class times. Students Teachers and Student Leaders (if applicable) will also help with pre and post class transitions.

CHOREOGRAPHY / CASTING / COSTUMES
To protect our fabulous teachers, and their commitment to choreographing and teaching innovative routines, choreographed routines are property of Nicz Dansation and relevant teachers.
No student is to perform a Nicz Dansation routine outside of official Nicz Dansation performances without consent from Nicola Purcell and relevant teachers
No discussions will be entered regarding casting for roles within routines. These decisions will be made purely by teachers and staff, and decisions are final
Hired costumes are the property of Nicz Dansation. All enrolled dancers are required to pay a hire fee OR purchase fee (depending on requirements), and hired costumes must be worn only for official Nicz Dansation purposes

PHOTOGRAPHY / RECORDING
Prohibited areas: Photography and video recording are strictly prohibited in private areas such as changing rooms, restrooms, or any other designated private space. Consent required: Any photos or videos taken on studio premises or rehearsal/concert space must have the explicit consent of all individuals involved. Social Media: Sharing photos or videos of others on social media or in group chats without their permission is not allowed.
Prohibited Actions: The following actions are considered violations of this policy - taking photos or videos of someone in a private setting such as whilst they are changing. Sharing or distributing photos or videos of others without consent. Using derogatory, harmful, or inappropriate language in connection with any image, video, or communication.
Photography at Rehearsals and Concert/s: To ensure consistency and compliance, photos and videos captured on personal devices can be taken in the breezeway connecting the dressing rooms and tunnels, and the open foyer. No photos or videos are to be captured in any dressing room space including Green Room, Main Dressing Room, Small Dressing Room, upstairs Foyer Dressing Room, Backstage Crossover, side stage, or bathroom facilities.

FEES

Families/students who fail this schedule will incur a late fee of $20 per instance, and in severe cases will be unable to participate in classes until payment is made

If you are going on an extended overseas holiday or sustain an injury that prevents you from participating in classes, please contact both Nicola and Katrina (nicolapurcell.nicz@gmail.com, katrina.burke.nicz@gmail.com) and we can discuss options with you. There are no credits or deductions for missed classes due to birthdays, illness, camp, excursions or short family holidays etc.

Multiple Class Discounts:
If a student participates in multiple classes, you are eligible for a multi-class discount. Upon payment, discounts will automatically be applied at checkout. *Classes that are 60mins+ are eligible for a multi class discount.

Adult Classes:
Adult classes will now follow the same process in regards to fees. Monthly/Quarterly/Annual billing available.

Production Levy:
A Production Levy of $60 (and $10 per class additional class/s participated in) will be invoiced in term 3. This guarantees a recording of the concert on USB, and covers all significant rehearsals at the theatre and MESC.
