What to bring for your paddling trip with the NSCD!If you are going paddling with the NSCD you will get a lifejacket, sprayskirt (if necessary), helmet (if necessary) and paddle. If the weather warrants it, we will also provide a wetsuit and other protective equipment. We suggest that you try to avoid wearing jeans or sweats (anything cotton), and instead dress in layers of fleece, wool, Capilene or synthetic clothing. Weather conditions can change quickly on the water and we feel that you are better off with too many layers than being cold!
We recommend that you bring:• A hat and sunglasses• Tether for your prescription glasses • Sunscreen• Water and a snack (or lunch if instructed) • Bathing suit and any other personal water clothing like rash guards or shorts for over your one-piece bathing suit• A change of clothes including shoes • Towel • Necessary medication/ personal care items• Footwear such as old sneakers, Tevas or sturdy other sandals (not flip-flops or Crocs), watersocks or booties• Food that meets your personal dietary restrictions
