KUTS: Story Trees - Shortest Short Story Contest

    Writers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to participate

  • Submissions must be a Short Story or Poetry
  • Submissions must be between 100 - 150 words. 
  • All submissions must be in English.
  • Open to residents and frequenters of Kerrville, Kerr County, and surrounding area. Anyone with a tie to the community and its natural beauty is encouraged to participate. Example: Legacy Campers, Hunters, Winter Texans, Area Extended Family, etc. 
  • No professional writing experience required; amateurs and enthusiasts are encouraged to participate. 
  • Winning Stories will be featured on the Kerrville Urban Trail System website and the Kerr County Lead Newsletter
  • Selected Stories will also be posted on the KUTS and Kerr County Lead social media platforms.

  • Winner's prose will be memorialized on a KUTS Story Tree permanent marker.
