Parent Permission & Commitment Agreement for UMS Cheerleading Tryouts
My child has my permission to participate in cheerleading tryouts Umatilla Middle School. I understand that my child must gain clearance from the Athletics Director in order to participate in cheerleading tryouts and that the Intramurals Sport’s Packet must be complete and returned. I have read all of the information on the school's website and understand the tryout requirements and the monetary/time responsibilities that come with making the squad. I also commit to being sure that my child brings a healthy snack and a bottle water the MANDATORY Tryout practice on September 16th, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm . My student will have transportation home at the designated time. My child must be present for all tryout practice date, unless prior arrangements have been made with Coach Rebekah to be considered for a cheerleading position.
If my child makes the squad I understand there will be a required parent meeting Thursday, October 8th, at 5:30 pm in the gym where social distancing can be maintained, and that masks are required if you will be sitting closer than 6 feet to the person next to you. I also understand that there will be a deposit of $75.00 due at the parent meeting. If a parent or guardian cannot be present, please call the school @ 352-669-3171 and ask to speak with Coach Feely after October 7th.
Unfortunately, there are a limited number of spaces on the squad and not every student that tries out will make it. If your student doesn’t make the squad, please be supportive and continue to encourage him/her to try to new things, as will we!
