The purpose of the YLC is to have young people 14-21 years old to volunteer at a community garden, learn valuable skills, give back to their community, and have fun. Joining is a great way to gain gardening skills, including but not limited to botany, agriculture, horticulture, composting, and community development.
There will be a kickoff event in the spring and a graduation ceremony in the summer. In order to attend graduation and receive recognition for program completion, youths must volunteer at a community garden for at least 20 hours throughout the spring into the summer.
