At South Devon College we recognise the value of working together to achieve the best possible outcome for our students and we have developed a system called 'Leap', to aid College-home communication.
Studying at College can be a big step for some young people and in addition to the support and help given to them through our standard support services, we recognise that you as parent/guardian may want to keep an eye on their progress. You can do this through our Leap system which is simple to use and is available outside of college through our web pages. We would encourage you to register and it is free to do so and access information at any time and will be the main way of communicating changes to programmes, attendance and other things related to a young person’s studies.
If you haven’t already registered then you can easily do so by completing the form below to access your young person's information online, including:
• Timetable information about the lessons they have for each course
• Attendance information (showing attendance to date and attendance at each session)
• Completed subject reports written by their teaching staff
This information is held securely and access is controlled to make sure the information remains safe.
If we are satisfied that the details provided on this form match the student information held on our student records database and your young person has not withheld consent for sharing their information, your Parental Access Password will be sent to your young person's address.
You will be sent email confirmation of whether your application has been successful within 7 working days. South Devon College has a statutory and moral duty to ensure that the College functions with a view to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people receiving education and training at the College.
South Devon College complies with the law on Data Protection (Data Protection Act 1998). Information collected is used fairly, stored safely and not disclosed to any other person unlawfully.
