If you have already applied for a food card but have not yet received one, please know we are working to fulfill all existing applications and will be in touch.

This pay-it-forward fund is being facilitated and organized by community members in the Bethel area, and serves residents of Bethel, Gilead, Newry, Greenwood, Albany, and Woodstock. This program will exist while SNAP/EBT benefits are frozen or until USDA emergency funding is no longer withheld.
If you have lost access to SNAP/EBT funding, we encourage you to apply for the Bethel Area Food Assistance Fund.
At this time we will give be giving out one-time payments of $100 Mainely Provisions (Hannaford) Gift Cards to individuals and households.
Applicants will receive gift cards on a first-come, first-serve basis as we raise funds for the Food Assistance Fund. Once your application has been approved, we will call/email you with instructions on how to pick up your card at Mainely Provisions.
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the timing of funds, or that everyone will receive a card.
Please note: You will need an eligible EBT card in your (the applicant's) name to pick up your gift card.
If you want to contribute, it's super easy! Just inform a Mainely Provisions staff member that you'd like to purchase a gift card for the Bethel Area Food Assistance Fund in increments of $25, $50 or $100. That's it! The store will hold onto the card until BAFAF is ready to distribute.
