Camp Selection(s)
Use this section to register for one (or multiple) camps. There are descriptions of each activity to help you decide which one(s) is/are best for you and your child.
Aviation and Aeronautics: July 13-16, for students entering grades 6-12.
Aviation and Aeronautics Camp offers an introduction to aviation and aeronautics, a program that students can take courses in at the high school level at Sanborn. Campers would spend time in the school’s flight simulator and would travel to some of the nearby airports to engage in aviation industry tours. The goal of this camp is to plant a seed of excitement in future Sanborn aviation students at an early age. For more information, please contact camp teacher Kevin Conant at keconant@sau17.net.
Creative Writing: July 27-30, for students entering grades 5-12.
Creative Writing Camp is an opportunity to explore your love for reading and writing in a low-stress environment. Students will spend the week reading choice books, writing from prompts, creating characters, and exploring elements of the short story and poetry. Students will leave the camp with a notebook full of ideas for future creation and hopefully the start of a writing habit that will follow them into the school year. For more information, please contact camp teacher Katie Graham at kgraham@sau17.net.
"Cinderella" Drama Camp: July 6-9 OR July 13-16, for students entering grades 4-9.
In Summer Drama Camp, actors will spend a week developing acting skills, as they collaborate with other actors to create a magical production of the ever popular fairy tale of "Cinderella". The cast will not only include the familiar main character, her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, and, of course, the prince, but also ladies in waiting, court jesters, a queen, more than one fairy godmother and more! In addition to rehearsals, expect creative activities to fill the days. The play will be performed for family and friends on the afternoon of the last day of camp. Join us for a week of theater exploration, inspiration and just plain fun! Note: Drama scholarships are available. Please contact Carol Misenheimer at cmisenheimer@sau17.net for information.
