Interest Form: Community Advisory Board of Canopy Roots
Canopy Roots is collecting names of community members interested in helping to shape the future of unarmed mental health first responder services in Minneapolis.

Canopy Roots operates the Behavioral Crisis Response (BCR) for the City of Minneapolis.  Since launch, Crisis Responders have resolved +12,000 calls via 911 with zero injuries to responders or recipients.  In June 2023, their work was highlighted in the DOJ report against the City of Minneapolis as a model of "compassionate alternative response to police."  In July 2023, the City Council voted unanimously to extend their contract for service delivery to August 2025.  They are continuing to grow and are looking for community to support these next steps.

Canopy Roots is exploring the development of a Community Advisory Board (CAB).  They are accepting names on a rolling basis.  Canopy encourages applications from people who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQIA+, individuals with lived experience in mental health illness or behavioral crises, residents of Minneapolis, and mental health advocates.
