Ontario is full of incredible impact ventures - business that are generating both financial and social / environmental returns. More and more investors are looking for these types of companies, but are unsure where to find them. The SVX is an online platform that connects these impact investors with qualified impact ventures.
The SVX Pre-Flight program is a six-week bootcamp for impact ventures preparing to raise capital to scale their business (and their impact). It consists of in-class workshops, mentorship and group advisory sessions for cohorts of ten to thirteen ventures that have a minimum viable product, an established business plan, are generating revenue, and seeking to start raising investment in the next three to six months.
Pre-Flight draws on the skills and expertise available through cohort based learning, MaRS Discovery District and its partners. Ventures work towards refining their approach to investor relations, due diligence materials and actively pitching to SVX investors. Program goals include the opportunity to pitch at Demo Day, a live event to an audience of investors, and on-boarding to the SVX platform for capital raising.
Pre-Flight builds off the work and learnings of the former Impact8 program. Content and advisory partners have included RBC, TMX Group, Virgin Unite, MNP, Adler and Norton Rose Fulbright.
