Being in our healthiest state means understanding who we are!
In Ayurveda we understand this in terms of the five elements - space, air, fire, water & earth.
For example earthly people are generally more grounded, and stable, they are loving & have good endurance. They are prone to conditions such as stubborn weight issues & depression. Airy people tend to be creative & artistic, they can be indecisive and are always on the move. They are more sensitive to pain and prone to anxiety.
In order to achieve our best health we need to know our true nature or Prakriti. Each of us has our own unique Prakriti (true nature). Our Prakriti is our own unique combination of the five elements - space, air, fire, water & earth and is manifested in the body and mind as the three Doshas; Vata, Pitta & Kapha.
