FCU Scheels Player of the Month
Program Purpose
The SCHEELS Player of the Month award recognizes an athlete who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship, effort, leadership, and positive attitude both on and off the field.

Nomination Criteria
Nominations should be based on the Bruce Brown Criteria & FCU's Character Development Program, which emphasize character, effort, and team-first values over statistics alone. Athletes do not need to be the top scorer or most skilled player to be nominated.

1. Effort & Resilience

  • We give our best every day—at practice, in games, and in how we prepare. Effort is non-negotiable. We respond to adversity with toughness and composure. We don’t quit—we grow

2. Respect

  • We respect teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and the game itself

3. Integrity

  • Do the right thing

4. Humility

  • We over me, learning over ego

5. Service

  • Do the unseen work

6. Forgiveness

  • Intentional, compassionate decision to move past mistakes, losses. It encompasses self-forgiveness after performance failures, forgiving teammates' errors, and maintaining team cohesion despite adversity

7. Courage

  • Acting on values despite pressure, breaking the cycle of fear and doubt

8. Accountability

  • We own our actions, attitudes, and results. No excuses. We learn, adjust, and improve
