Carbondale Community Arts will host a Beginning Knitting Workshop with local fiber artist Jamie White at Artspace 304. In this workshop, you will begin to learn the basics of knitting, focusing on creating cotton washcloths.
You will learn how to choose the correct yarn and needles for your project, and how to read a pattern. You will learn how to cast on to your needles, and how to bind off at the end. The class will start will a simple "knit" and "garter" stitch and will expand to other stitch patterns as the weeks progress.
The Beginning Knitting Workshop is open to ages 12 and up, no knitting experience needed. This four-week workshop will be held on Thursday nights, March 22, 29, and April 5, and 12th, from 6 - 7: 30 PM. Tuition is $60, includes the cost of materials (knitting needles and yarn).
