We are pleased to inform you that the school is organizing an inaugural music competition, also known as The Stephenian Factor in Term 3 2018.
The objectives of the event are to:• Raise awareness and appreciation for music in all pupils• Provide pupils with a platform to showcase their talents• Instill resilience in pupils as they thrive for excellence• Allow musically talented pupils to take ownership of their learning and further develop their musicianship skills
Pupils who are interested in participating in The Stephenian Factor will need to meet the following broad criteria:• A minimum grade of: GRADE 3 or 4 (ABRSM or equivalent) depending on the category selected• Duration of each piece: between 2 to 3 mins• Pupils need to be able to attend the auditions held in Term 3 Week 3 and 4 after school hourso Participants will receive another consent form with more details regarding the audition timings in Term 3.• The top three finalist of each category from the auditions will perform in The Stephenian Factor finals which will take place on Staff Recognition day, 30 August 2018, during school hours
If your child/ward is interested in participating, they are to submit the acknowledgement slip by dropping the slip in the box located outside the General Office from 23 May 2018 to 27 June 2018.

1) Your child/ward meets the minimum grade of ABRSM Grade 3/4 or equivalent according to the category requirements.
2) If your child is shortlisted for the auditions, it will take place after school hours in Term 3 Week 3 and Term 3 Week 4.
3) You will need to make transport arrangements for your child/ward after the auditions.
