All Palmetto Kids Cooking, LLC staff and community partners are required to complete the Stewards of Children® prevention training program through Darkness to Light. Our commitment to the health and well being of all children extends beyond the kitchen. Staff members and community partners are required to report any policy violations to a supervisor or a member of the Palmetto Kids Cooking, LLC Management team. Background checks are also preformed on all staff members prior to their start date.

Teach provided plans related to basics of nutrition and healthy eating to kids in an engaging way while making sure kids are learning and having fun. Your primary function will be at our camp with the option to expand to classes, parties, special events, etc. You will be introducing kids to basic knife skills, measuring techniques, how to follow a recipe, food safety, etc. through a healthy and nutritious curriculum. You may also be asked to lead or assist in physical activities as well.

Scope of Responsibilities:
-Instructing and/or assisting in the classes, parties, camps, special events, etc. following Palmetto Kids Cooking, LLC standards and guidelines.-Sets up and takes down class equipment including, but not limited to, preparing necessary ingredients, kitchen tools depending on the theme. Reports equipment problems.-Making sure the personal hygiene of students/campers is maintained.-Making sure the facility is sanitary and clean at all time including packing, labeling, organizing and storing food safely and properly, and washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, and leaving facility ready for the next usage. -Carryout any basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, etc.-Taking out the trash and keeping the restrooms clean and stocked.-Attends any required meetings and trainings. Stays current on any necessary certifications. -Ensures safe and effective classes, parties, camps, special events, etc.-Follows, responds to, and reports all related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention incidents and -emergency procedures per Palmetto Kids Cooking, LLC guidelines and policies to Management. -Discusses and promotes all Palmetto Kids Cooking, LLC classes, parties, camps, special events, etc.-Motivates participants to commit to long-term participation. -Supports the Palmetto Kids Cooking, LLC mission. -Communicate feedback and interact with parents and other Palmetto Kids Cooking, LLC staff. -Any other task or duty needed by the Palmetto Kids Cooking, LLC supervisors and/or Management.
Requirements:-16 years old with driver's license and own reliable transportation. -Flexibility to meet changing work needs and demands-Ability to individually lead, motivate, and engage a class of students 5-12 years old -Ability to be punctual and reliable -Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately-Ability to respond to emergency situations and act accordingly-Openness to feedback and desire to grow professionally-Ability to communicate clearly, maturely and compassionately with students, parents, co-workers, and Management. -Ability to maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy and exceptional enthusiasm all day, every day, for the duration of all classes, parties, camps, special events, etc.-Currently have or are able to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification (This will be required and provided after hire if needed).-Currently have or are able to complete Stewards of Children® prevention training program through Darkness to Light (This will be required and provided after hire if needed).-Must pass criminal background check-Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the US and valid photo ID-Ability to perform physical demands essential functions of this job including but not limited to, some lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs., typing, writing, reading, seeing, hearing and speaking, both nearby and at a distance, use hand and fingers to help with classroom supplies and operate equipment, frequent sitting, standing up to five hours, walking, kneeling, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
