The Housing Narrative Lab recently completed the
third phase of our national narrative research project aimed at understanding the beliefs that people currently hold about homelessness and identifying messaging that might shift their understanding about the true causes of homelessness.
We found multiple successful narratives and messages that moved people away from the belief that homelessness is the result of bad choices and moved them toward proven solutions, such as the need for more housing that people can afford.
We encourage grassroots and national organizations to use these videos and messages – either publish them directly or record the scripts with your own images and narrators. We are offering a limited number of small grants from $500-$1,000* to support organizations in boosting these messages in their communities.
