Attendance at performances and band camp are mandatory. This includes Christmas parades. If there are conflicts with any of these dates, notification to the director is required when registering the program. Membership is probationary until approved by the director. The student may be enrolled as an alternate. Extenuating circumstances for last minute absences include death in the immediate family or extreme illness or injury (contagious, prevents member from being able to perform, etc.) and may be excused. An unexcused absence from a performance or camp date will result in probationary membership or dismissal from the group.

Attendance at rehearsals is essential in ensuring quality performances.  However, there are times when a student must be absent, late, or leave early because of an unavoidable conflict.  Forms should be submitted for any anticipated absence as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours prior to the expected absence in order for the absence to be considered excused.  Unexcused absences or a pattern of excused absences will result in a conference with the student leadership and may prevent a student from performing with the band.
