Values and Principles of Co-Governance
What is co-governance? Whether you joined us on the 25th or were unable to attend, let's work towards a definition of co-governance for Chicago.

As we think about reimagining leadership, building accountability and planning for a shared future - what do we want that to look like? Our next step in creating a shared definition of co-governance is starting to distill which of the many values and principles we came up with are most important.

Values are the building blocks that establish the foundation of any entity.  Values are basic and fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate attitudes or actions.

Principles are commitments how we will live out our values.

Borrowing from the Black Culture Wellness work, we define principles as values in action.

You have the opportunity to shape this plan as we equitably and inclusively center community in our work towards building a Chicago that works for all.
