Purpose
The purpose of the 135+ club is to raise funds. The money paid into the Rugby Club’s bank account will be used to pay for training courses and coaching fees agreed by the Club’s Committee to develop the game of Rugby Football at all levels within Aston Old Edwardians RFC and the local community. The Committee will also consider requests for help from Rugby Club members following injury or illness.
Rules
1.For a cost of £5 per month (i.e., per draw) the member will be allocated one number between one and 135. Members may purchase as many numbers as they wish. Once all numbers within this range have been purchased, the Committee of Aston Old Edwardians RFC may at its sole discretion expand the range as it sees fit.
2.Membership is for a minimum period of 12 months. One month’s notice is required for cancellation.
3.The prizes will total 37.5% of the annual income.
4.This will be apportioned as: 10 monthly draws at 35% of the prior month’s income plus 2 draws, in July and December, at 50% of the prior month’s income.
5.The 135+ club is operated by Aston Old Edwardians RFC, registered under The Gambling Act 2005 with Birmingham City Council, License No. 174904. Anyone aged 18, or over, can join.
6.The first payment to be received by the Club at anytime in the month with second and all future payments by standing order to provide cleared funds in the Club’s Bank Account no later than the 7th of each month.
7.Member’s numbers will only be entered if their subscription is up to date. To make this clear – for example – your March payment forms part of the prize fund to be drawn in April. If your April payment is not received, your number will not be entered into the April Draw.
8.If a member has no valid reason for missing a payment, their number may be sold to someone on the reserve list.
9.The draw will be made, at the Clubhouse, by two members of the Rugby Club Committee no later than the 15th of each month. The first Draw will be in April 2023, with the prize being 35% of the income received in March 2023.
10.The winning payment will be processed by bank transfer within one week of the draw.
11.The name and numbers for each month’s winner will be displayed in the Clubhouse and on Aston Old Edwardians Social Media channels. All members agree that the Club can use winners’ names for such purpose and no other.
12.The 135+ club will be run by Aston Old Edwardians RFC. In case of any dispute the decision of the committee is final.
13.Aston Old Edwardians RFC will maintain accounting records to identify income received via the 135+ Club and how that money has been spent. The 135+ Club income & expenditure will be published at the AGM of Aston Old Edwardians RFC, and available upon request thereafter.
14.No money raised by the 135+ Club will be carried over from one Financial Year* to another unless to meet specific costs already agreed. No reserve fund will be established. (* AOE’s accounting period)
