The Natchitoches Farmers Market (NFM) is open each Saturday for 14 weeks in the Spring from April-July and 5 weeks in the fall from October-November seasonally from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Front Street from Church Street to Touline. The market features locally grown produce, meats, food products, plants, herbs, flowers, crafts, jewelry and much more.  Kids Club is offered to the first 200 kids ages 2-13, to spend on fresh and local fruits and vegetables. Demonstrations or activities are provided each Saturday.

The Community Garden is used by the Natchitoches Farmers Market and the Mobile Market as a source for produce.

The Portable Park is a mobile recreation unit designed to get people of all ages outside and moving. The Portable Park program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 5 weeks in the fall and 14 weeks in the spring from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The family oriented, free events aim to engage youth and their families with games, activity booths, food and music.

The Natchitoches Summer Day Camp is an eight week summer program for youth age 6-13. The camp consists of an art, craft, life skills, sports, non-traditional sports, and academic classes, weekly field trips and daily swimming. The camp operates during the summer months (June and July) from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Community Programs encourages positive youth development promotes healthy lifestyles and community engagement through events, enrichment and educational opportunities in a safe and supportive environment.

Must be able to participate in physical activity outdoors which may include: bending, running and lifting.

*Volunteers that are recognized as a group have different volunteer opportunities than individual volunteers.
Natchitoches Farmers Market
• Equipment Coordinator- Assist in the set up and break down of equipment for event.
• Community Table Assistant- Help sell produce.
• Activity Conductor- Provide youth demonstrations and activities.

Community Garden
• Garden Assistant- Help with plant, weed, and harvest produce.

Portable Park
• Assistant Coach- Engage youth and adults in recreation, activities, and games using equipment in the Portable Park.

Park Events (Family Day and Block Parties)
• Equipment Coordinator- Assist with set up and clean up of equipment for events.
• Activity Conductor- Provide youth demonstrations and activities.
• Food Manager- Assist with making and serving food at the events.
• Inflatable Monitor- Watch youth play in or on inflatable at the events.
Natchitoches Summer Day Camp
• Guest Speaker- Present to youth during guest speaker time.

Emergency Treatment: I hereby authorize city staff to act on my behalf in accordance with their best judgment in case of an emergency involving my child, and agree to assume full responsibility for all expenses, medical or otherwise, that may arise there from. I understand that I or my insurance company will be billed for such emergency treatment.

Photo Permission: I give permission for photographs and videotape recordings of my son/daughter’s participation in activities with the City of Natchitoches to be used in promotional materials. I understand that these photos and/or videos may be used in brochures, edited video programs, online and other promotional items for informing interested parties about program activities.
