The group setting of NAMI Family-to-Family provides mutual support and shared positive impact—experience compassion and reinforcement from people who understand your situation. Sharing your own experience may help others in your class. In the program, you'll learn about:
How to solve problems and communicate effectivelyTaking care of yourself and managing your stressSupporting your loved one with compassionFinding and using local supports and servicesUp-to-date information on mental health conditions and how they affect the brainHow to handle a crisisCurrent treatments and therapiesThe impact of mental health conditions on the entire family
FREE 2-day training will be held over a weekend in Grand Junction, dates TBD. Meals are included in the training weekend, as are hotel accommodations for those travelling from outside the Grand Valley Area. Future leaders also have the option of traveling to Denver for Peer-to-Peer Leader training.
