Lewis and Clark 2026 Survey Registration
Sign up here to participate in the Smithsonian Institution's 2026 re-survey of the Lewis and Clark historic trail! Our network of collaborators will collectively survey all 4,900 miles of the Lewis and Clark trail, across 16 states, with camera traps. We will then compare the modern data with historic animal records from the expedition journals.

Please read this project description, review these protocol requirements, and view this interactive map of the survey area before registering. 

If you plan to survey more than one array (group of cameras), please complete this form once per array. 

We will contact all registered participants with information on the next steps in January 2026. Our first training webinar will take place in March 2026.
