The Watertown Area United Way provides all WHA scholarship funds. Scholarships are considered on an individual basis by the WHA executive board and will be kept confidential. We will review the merit of every request and the good standing of the player in regards to prior year fee payments, volunteer hours performed, and player's character.
If your family or the student qualifies for free or reduced school lunches, please send previous or current year's verification of free or reduced lunch qualifications. These forms may be emailed to WHAtreasurer@watertownlakers.org.
The WHA executive board will review all applications. Application can be submitted here or mailed to WHA, PO Box 483, Watertown, SD 57201.
All WHA families are expected to fulfill volunteer requirements. Families who receive scholarships may NOT pay funds in place of their volunteer requirements.
Scholarships will cover cost of WHA registrations and USA hockey fees. Other fees may be covered under certain circumstances.
Upon approval applicant will receive a discount code to be used during WHA registration process and a reimbursement to cover the USA hockey fee. (Applicant must register and pay for USA hockey at
www.usahockey.com)
