    Original audition Notice

#######SHORT############ It is with great pleasure I announce that there will be a COGGLES show at the end of September in Cambridge. We are looking for a producer and a director (deadline Monday 21st July) and writers (deadline Sunday 3rd August) of a humorous 1 hour play. If you are interested in acting in the show (few rehearsals in September), sign up here ( http://tinyurl.com/lnjhqnh ), and there you can see the original audition notice in its full glory. We take shows to old people's homes, and all our shows are in the evening or at weekends. We are open to anyone in Cambridge (including undergrads, postgrads, post-docs, PIs, staff, real people, humans, aliens, woolly animals, halves of a pantomime horse, part of an extendable cow etc...), and writers don't even need to be in Cambridge. No previous experience required - email Miffy at cambridge.coggles@gmail.com with any questions. #########Long############# What is COGGLES? Cambridge Old Graduate and Graduand Light Entertainment Society - though anyone can be in it (undergrad, post-grad, people in the real world, aliens...) - we put on an hour long humorous play to those people who don't normally get a chance to go to theatres. We go to old people's homes and Fulbourn Hospital, and put on shows. We then do one show at the end for students, friends and family to come and watch When are the shows? The shows will be Saturday 27th September 2:30pm Ditchburn Place Wednesday 1st October Epworth Court Two more shows in the date range 28th September - 4th October Student and all people you know show - hopefully Saturday 11th October. What do I need to do to direct or produce? You only need to email me at cambridge.coggles@gmail.com . Don't worry if you have never done it before - I will be on hand to help with any problems you may have. The director essentially turns the script on the page into a show, by telling the actors where they should be, and help them to understand their role. The producer organises rehearsal rooms, and helps sort out the costumes and props (we have an extensive costume cupboard which can be accessed with some notice). It is very easy and fun thing to do - all you need to do is email me and tell me you would like to do it. The deadline is Monday 21st July. What do I need to do to be a writer? We need a plan from you (or a collection of you) as to what your show is about, and one scene as well. That is all you need by Sunday 3rd August. Don't worry if you have never written before - email us if you have any problems (at cambridge.coggles@gmail.com ). You would then need to finish the script by the end of August. It should be an hour long play, appropriate for old people's homes. Do email if you have any worries or concerns. I won't be able to finish it by the end of August, or would prefer to write an hour long pantomime instead. What should I do? That is fine - email us by the start of September, and we can pass it on to CULES who would be looking for an hour long play and an hour long pantomime. Please do apply - we would love to have you with us. All applications to cambridge.coggles@gmail.com , and if you want to act and join our mailing list, go to http://tinyurl.com/lnjhqnh to join the COGGLES mailing list (though there will be another email round these lists at some point in August). Thank you.
