Bluegrass BBQ FEST Vendor Registration

Bluegrass BBQ FEST, hosted by Smiley Pete Publishing, is June 8 & 9, 2018 downtown at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. Smiley Pete Publishing the founder and producer of Bluegrass BBQ Fest and CRAVE Lexington, which celebrates its sixth year in August 2018. In addition to being seasoned festival and food promotion producers, Smiley Pete is a media company and publisher of Chevy Chaser, Southsider and Business Lexington magazines. We know our audience likes to eat and drink outdoors!

This is the official food application for VENDORS. Applicants must be a business. Most are a permanent retail operation, catering company or food truck business, whose primary function is the preparation and sale of food. No backyard amateurs will be permitted to vend at the festival.

Full payment is due by April 30, 2018 but encouraged with application as this festival has limited vendor availability.

Bluegrass BBQ FEST is a FREE food and music festival celebrating the diversity of Kentucky BBQ and the culture surrounding a classic Kentucky barbecue. Bluegrass BBQ FEST will host local and regional BBQ restaurants and pitmasters with lots of yummy things on the side like beer, bourbon, blues and bluegrass in a family-friendly, soulful atmosphere.

Festival Hours:
Friday, June 8: 5pm to 11pm
Saturday, June 9: 11am to 11pm

Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza is located at 120 N. Limestone Lexington, KY 40507.
Expected Attendance: 15,000-20,000 over two days.

Pitmaster Booth*
Three booth sizes available:
10 x 10 ($500 + 10% of Bluegrass BBQ FEST sales)
20 x 10 ($750 + 10% of Bluegrass BBQ FEST sales)
30 x 10 ($1,000 +10% of Bluegrass BBQ FEST sales)
Pitmaster Booth Fee covers both days. Proof of sales required end of each day.
Provide own set-up including tents (non-staked) & tables. Please include electric requests with this application.

Non-Pitmasters and Ice Cream Vendors have separate vendor registrations. Request those from or submit through the website

*Vendors are solely responsible for decor, display, banners, signage for booths and chairs for sitting. Please submit electrical requests with this application. Additional electric fee may be charged for extraordinary requirements.

Bluegrass BBQ FEST vendors process own payments. We believe this will be a profitable event in both sales and exposure for your business or brand.

Bluegrass BBQ FEST sells all beverages including soft drinks, water, and alcohol. Vendors are NOT allowed to sell any beverages.

Vendors are welcome to put tip jars out for staff as long as it isn't obnoxious. Bluegrass BBQ FEST will be a fun weekend and everyone should feel rewarded outside of the great pay you all offer.

Completed application and payment deadline is April 30, 2018. Bluegrass BBQ FEST management has the discretion to accept applications after the April 30, 2018 deadline if the restaurant/vendor will enhance the quality of the event.

Bluegrass BBQ FEST management team has full menu discretion and will make recommendations regarding the food served at the festival.. We want to celebrate the diversity of barbecue, and we want to make sure you have a successful festival.

We strongly recommend that BBQ vendors provide festival goers with a choice of at least three (3) total menu items. Menu item ideas must be submitted with this registration. This will help us advise you and make sure that your menu will be a success. Last year the festival was attended by 15,000 hungry people. Most vendors had steady lines and completely underestimated how much food they would need to serve. Bluegrass BBQ Fest is a 17 hour festival. You will have the opportunity to serve thousands.

Vendor set-up begins 12p Friday, June 8, 2018. Vendors will receive specific load-in instructions on or before May 31. All vendors must be set-up and ready for inspection and festival kick-off at 4:30p Friday, June 8 and 10:30a Saturday, June 9.
