Thank you for your interest in volunteering your time and expertise to judge oral arguments during the 11th Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition, October 22-24, 2020. We have 48 teams from 31 law schools across the country competing - the largest BEF Competition ever. Your participation is crucial to the success of the competition, and our student Moot Court Board is very appreciative of your support. Please sign up at your earliest convenience and by Monday, October 12, if possible.
Given the Covid-19 situation, this year's oral arguments will be presented online through Zoom. We hope that the online format will make it even more convenient for you to participate. Judges will be emailed a link to sign in for the oral arguments. We will also send judges instructions for logging in, as well as a bench brief that consists of the moot court problem, cases and other authorities, and sample questions that will be helpful to judges.
Each oral argument round lasts approximately 60 minutes, followed by 5-10 minutes of feedback for the competitors. We ask that judges log in 15 minutes before the argument time.
We would appreciate you judging two hour-long rounds, if possible. If you can judge only one round, or if you could judge more than two, we would appreciate that as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Judge Recruitment Chairs for this year's BEF Competition, Travis Poulos (

We appreciate your support of the BEF Moot Court Competition and the Elon Law Moot Court Board.
All the best,
