The Board for Certification of Genealogists intends to more fully incorporate genetic evidence into Genealogy Standards, its guide to the best practices of the genealogical community. A committee tasked with reviewing the issue has proposed new and amended standards, and the Board now invites public comment on the proposals.
A copy of the proposed DNA standards in PDF format can be downloaded via this link: https://bcgcertification.org/DNA/Proposed_Standards.pdf
These proposed standards apply to all types of DNA testing. If you are only familiar with one type of DNA testing some of the terms may not be familiar to you. Please answer questions based on your current knowledge. A glossary defining terms will be provided with the standards upon publication.
