NatureWorks Summer Camp Registration 2017
Day Camp with some overnight options for 6-15 year olds

Suzuki Violin - players from ages 3-15 are welcome to come play in the prairie with us! Small group lessons will take place throughout the day from experienced violin instructors and tutors. Prior experience with violin needed. Pony riding, gardening, and exploring on the farm are also a part of the experience. Half or full day options are available for this session. Led by accomplished violin player and instructor, Donna Carnes, and her staff.

Music Variety - singing, dancing, percussion and more will fill this camp! Explore different music genres and ways of expressing oneself with this playful approach to becoming more engaged with music. No experience necessary. Jordan Hope, PRAIRIE HILL Montessori Elementary teacher and seasoned music educator, will lead this session.



Explore rocks, minerals, fossils! Learn about current wind, weather and how wind energy works (right here at PRAIRIE HILL) as well as what Nebraska's land and weather was like in the past. A University of Nebraska Earth and Atmospheric scientist and science educator, Sabrina Brown, will lead this two week session for your enthusiastic naturalist.


FULL ~ ANIMAL EXPLORERS (June 26 - June 30):

Join scientists from the lab of Dr. Eileen Hebets at UNL in discovering facts related to animals and scientific inquiry. Experiments, investigation, creativity, and critical thinking will lead to greater awareness and appreciation of the animal world.


FOOD LAB (July 10 - 21)

PRAIRIE HILL alum and health science graduate student, Lauren Pope, will lead campers through food measurement and cutting skills, preservation and canning of jellies and jams, preparing fruit leather, substitution of common ingredients, and a variety of experiences preparing delicious homemade food. With the PRAIRIE HILL fruit trees and bushes, and large vegetable gardens for inspiration and raw materials--this camp will tantalize taste buds!


ARTISTIC ADVENTURES (July 24 - August 4):

Come and be invigorated by local artists that are passionate about cultivating creativity in children in a setting that encourages original expression and reflection. With a focus on using the natural world and materials as a foundation, your child will be encouraged and aided in their creative endeavors while learning from artist role models in our community.


ALL camps at PRAIRIE HILL include daily pony riding, gardening, singing, walks in the pasture, animal care, exploration, afternoon snacks, picnics, and more. Call 402-438-6668 for more information.
