LA Dodgers officially announce contract with Kershaw, '2 years - 10 million guaranteed'
The contract between Clayton Kershaw (36), who chose the path of a one-club man, and the LA Dodgers was officially announced. Kershaw signed a two-year contract and will wear the LA Dodgers uniform until the 2025 season.

The LA Dodgers announced on the 10th (Korean time) that they signed a 1+1 year contract with Kershaw that includes a player option for the 2025 season. Annual salary of $5 million for the 2024 season and $5 million player option for the 2025 season.

Additionally, this contract provides up to an additional $7.5 million depending on the number of appearances in the 2024 season. The incentive will also be applied to the 2025 season.

A contract structure with incentives greater than base salary. This appears to be because Kershaw will only be able to return at the end of the 2024 season due to shoulder surgery.

Kershaw underwent left shoulder surgery in November of last year and is expected to return in the second half of the 2024 season. The current goal is to return by the end of July at the earliest, or August at the latest.

Previously, Kershaw pitched 131 2/3 innings in 24 games last year, recording 13 wins, 5 losses, and an ERA of 2.46. At the beginning of the season, he was even mentioned as a Cy Young Award winner.

However, Kershaw was unable to play in many games last year due to injury. He has already expressed his disappointment by not being able to fill the required number of innings for three consecutive seasons.

Accordingly, what is important to Kershaw is health first, second, and third. Attention is being paid to whether Kershaw will be able to stand on the mound at Dodger Stadium in good health.
