What is the Electoral Volunteer Corps? It's a volunteer leadership and training program for Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund Supporters and Volunteers. EVC members commit to devoting 4 hrs/week to supporting PPAF's endorsed candidates across the state, and receive training, one on one coaching from organizers, and the opportunity to represent our movement in some of 2018's most competitive State Legislative races.
Electoral Volunteer Corps members will support candidates and their campaigns by knocking on doors, making phone calls, and helping with data or events when needed. They'll also participate in weekly statewide calls with PPAF's Organizing leadership and with EVC members from across the state, connect biweekly with organizers, and receive specialized Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund Swag. No campaign experience? No problem! We'll provide the training and support you need to get comfortable with the work!
The next training will be Thursday September 20th from 5:30 PM-8:00 PM.
There will be three different "teams" in the Electoral Volunteer Corps:
- A "Travel Team" (from Boston, Worcester, or Springfield): members will participate in a Day of Action Canvass each weekend with a PPAF organizer, and travel regionally to different campaigns for priority candidates
-An "Ambassadors Team": members will be assigned to a campaign for a priority candidate and spend time there each week knocking on doors and helping the campaign with other needs
-A "Phone Banking" team: members will attend weekly phone banks at PPAF offices and community spaces and/or help organize phone banks in their own communities
Ready to jump in? Share your information and why you're interested below and our organizing staff will follow up with next steps! Applications will be accepted on a rolling based through October 1st.
