Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Identities in Theatre
A series of workshops led by Shira Helena Gitlin (they/them)

In these workshops, we will cover "Trans 101" and delve into what it means to work with transgender and gender nonconforming individuals in theatre. Topics covered may include trans history, using pronouns, definitions, casting, script selection, production, marketing, and more. While these workshops are geared towards cisgender artists, transgender and gender nonconforming artists are welcome to join.

Each workshop will take place over zoom and last approximately 90 minutes. All workshops are PWYC.

All workshops are stand-alone, so you only need to attend one!

All workshops are EASTERN STANDARD TIME.

Workshop dates:

PLAYWRIGHTS:

Sunday, May 15th from 3-4:30pm EST

Tuesday, May 24th from 7-8:30pm EST

Note: If you are a director or playwright but cannot make those dates, feel free to attend the general sessions. They will cover much of the same material but will be a little less focused towards those specific fields.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me (shirahelenagitlin@gmail.com).
