Gun Violence Awareness Month Partnership with The T.R.I.G.G.E.R. Project
The True Reasons I Grabbed the Gun Evolved from Risks (T.R.I.G.G.E.R) Project is a K-College gun violence prevention program based in the nation’s capital with the goal of creating an evidence-based model for urban gun violence prevention. We aim to denormalize and destigmatize gun violence in and for communities of color across the nation. We focus on changing the norm and narrative of gun violence in and for communities of color by illuminating the hidden stories of everyday gun violence users to all walks of life.

Our intent is to build awareness and compassion for people who feel invisible without the gun. Both our nation and our community have accepted gun violence in communities of color as the standard way of life. Simultaneously, youth from many inner-cities have grown accustomed to the abnormal challenges and disparities that they face. Youth are growing to normalize the many risk factors that the CDC links, not only, to perpetration and victimization, but towards living an unhealthy lifestyle.

We can join forces and unpack the trauma of gun violence in communities and cities across the nation. We can help every individual realize their personal power through their actions, behaviors, and beliefs towards ending gun violence and beyond!

Join The TRIGGER Project's Gun Violence Awareness Month national initiative to raise awareness of the everyday (aka city gun violence, urban gun violence, interpersonal gun violence) gun violence experience with reducing the risk factors associated with youth violence.
