Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr. is proud to present the 3rd Annual City of Irondale Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting themed "Irondale's Polar Express Adventure!" The festivities will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Parade floats and other entries will be judged, and prizes will be awarded! The parade will culminate at Irondale City Hall, where we'll enjoy our Annual Tree Lighting, as well as FREE hot cocoa, coffee, caroling, and photos with Santa.
Please read the official rules and complete the form below to register to participate in the parade. You will be contacted with additional details. Line-up will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Irondale Community School. The parade will step off at 6:00 p.m. moving down 16th St. South. It will turn left into the westbound lanes of Highway 78 and proceed to 20th Street South, where it will again turn left. The parade will turn right onto 1st Avenue South, just past Irondale City Hall, and disband from there.
RULES
1. No Santas in individual entries. Santa will be provided by the City of Irondale.
2. All children under the age of 18, whether riding on a float or walking in the parade, must have adult supervision throughout the parade.
3. Drivers operating a vehicle in the parade must provide proof of a valid driver's license and insurance.
4. Drivers in the parade must abide by all traffic laws and instructions of the Irondale Police Department.
5. All participants must sign a waiver of liability.
6. Candy and treats may be given out along the parade route, but may not be thrown in a way that creates a danger to spectators who may enter the roadway to pick up candy.
7. Please remember that the parade will take place at night, so consider lighting when planning decorations for your parade entry (electric Christmas lights powered by generator, battery-powered Christmas lights, etc.).
8. The City of Irondale reserves the right to disqualify any entries with offensive language, references to alcoholic beverages, or any content that is not family-friendly and child-appropriate.
9. The deadline to register for the parade is Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
