STEM Family Night Presenters
March 28 @ Thunder Mountain High School
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Activities geared towards K-5 students
Please complete the form below if you are interested in providing a hands-on activity for kids at the STEM Family Night. This event is being held in collaboration with the Discovery Tech exhibit at the Juneau Public Library (open now through April 6). This will be slightly different than the science nights that many of you are used to. We will be opening the evening with a half hour introduction by Ken Wesson on the brain and STEM learning. That will be followed by an hour of STEM sessions in classrooms and in the commons with a wrap up to close out the evening so that we inform parents of the importance of STEM! We are hoping for around 300 students (families) to attend, though we do not expect all students to be able to visit each activity.
Organization (if you're representing an organization)
Brief Activity/Activities Description (multiple related activities can be offered in the same room)
Which better describes your activity? (We expect kids to spend about 15-20min at each activity)
Walk up (kids can come and go at different times)
Group/Class (kids should start and complete activity as a group)
Where would you prefer to have your activity?
In a classroom
In the commons
Are there any materials will you need provided? (Presenters are encouraged to provide as much of their own materials as possible)
We may have high school assistants available. If so, could you use a volunteer/
1 would be great
2 would be even better
Is there anything else we need to know or any questions we can answer?
THANK YOU! We will contact you soon to confirm your participation and with more event details.
