HMC Mathematics Department Student Application for Travel Funds
Please submit a separate application for each conference you would like to attend and be aware that in order to complete this form, you will need to secure an HMC math faculty endorsement for your application. An endorsement means you have had a discussion about the conference you wish to attend (and the funds required) with a faculty member and they believe your request merits the expenditure of department funds. A verbal endorsement from the faculty member to you will suffice.

We also ask that students contribute a portion of the expenses for the conference by paying for their meals. If this is a hardship, please let us know.

This funding comes from a generous gift to the mathematics department called the Jonsson Travel Fund. The department would greatly appreciate a thank you letter about how your trip went and what you gained from your conference experience to be shared with the donor foundation. This letter can be an email or hard copy and should be given to the department within two weeks of your return from the conference.
