UCI Blum Center - Poverty Course Waitlist

A flagship, multidisciplinary, fully-online course on Global Poverty and Inequality in the 21st century will launch in winter 2017. This course will be the first of its kind, taught by faculty and experts from across the UC system.

Sign up for the waitlist to receive updates on the course and enrollment instructions. The course will be offered to all UC students, and enrollment will be limited.

Poverty is one of the most complex and pressing issues of our time. This course will offer an introduction to the study of poverty, inequality, and social justice, both in the US and globally, with the goal of preparing students to think critically about the subject.

The study of poverty and inequality will be approached from a multidisciplinary perspective, diving into questions such as "What is poverty? How are poverty & inequality alleviated?" and covering topics related to poverty such as education, health, environment, disaster, gender, and technology.

Please note: This course is offered to UNDERGRADUATE students enrolled in a UC only.
