Sign Our Petition for a Crosswalk at N. Caldwell Ave. and N. Tonty Ave

We are Girl Scout Junior Troop #26188, and we're advocating for a signaled crosswalk (Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon) in our community at the intersection of N. Caldwell Avenue and N. Tonty Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.

We live in the Edgebrook/Wildwood neighborhood, and we've noticed a lack of safe crossing locations for pedestrians and cyclists to access the forest preserve. Car accidents occur on this busy four-lane road, and animals are often hit. People, especially kids like us, should be able to cross without fear for their safety. Introducing a PHB crosswalk with signals will reduce injuries and accidents, encourage exercise, and make it safer for everyone.

We chose this project for our Girl Scout Bronze Award; a crosswalk will impact our community in a positive way and make a lasting change. Please join us by signing this petition to show your support for a PHB crosswalk at the intersection of Caldwell and Tonty Avenues. After raising awareness for this issue and gathering signatures, our troop plans to present this petition to our local elected officials. If you'd like to connect with us, email troop26188@gmail.com. Thank you for your support!
