New Electrical Transmission Line Survey
The Costilla County Commissioners are asking residents their opinion regarding a new electrical transmission line along the Hwy 160 corridor going over La Veta Pass.  No such transmission line is being proposed, but the Public Utilities Commission will be investigating transmission solutions for the San Luis Valley.  Currently the only transmission line serving the Valley travels over Poncha Pass and along State Highway 285.  Since this is the only transmission line serving nearly 19,500 homes in the San Luis Valley, there will be a focus on additional locations and routes other than Poncha Pass.
