Hello there!
Welcome to the potential first *spark* of the One Health Student Group. The University of Tennessee is home to many different professions -- veterinary, nursing, business, communications, environmental, ecology, public health, and so many more. Many of these professions either clearly or obscurely influence the health of all people, animals, plants and the environment. Coming off of the coattails of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought personal and public health to the forefront of many of our minds -- so what can you do now to address these questions from the skills you're developing now in school?
Well... the VERY first step is the learn about issues impacting health. Scroll over to the University of Tennessee One Health Initiative webpage (
https://onehealth.tennessee.edu/). It explains what One Health is and demonstrates an alliance that exists locally to discuss and tackle complex health issues. If what you see piques your interest, come back and indicate your interest in joining a collaborative space for students to engage in transdisciplinary conversations, health-based projects on campus, and develop the student voice for One Health.
ANY STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE (part time or full time... undergraduate, graduate, professional or doctoral) IS WELCOME TO JOIN THIS GROUP.
**Filling out this form does not automatically sign you up for the initial group -- but if you do fill this out, you will be followed up with at a later date**
Feel free to contact Mariah Dee (
