Strengthening Media to Safeguard Democracy: The Media Viability Manifesto for Collective Action
Around the world, democracy and human rights are under pressure, with autocracies on the rise and geopolitical conflicts intensifying. At a time when reliable, fact-based journalism is most needed, independent media are fighting for survival.
To tackle the economic crisis facing journalism worldwide, 13 leading media development organizations have joined forces in a pioneering multi-stakeholder initiative to develop the Media Viability Manifesto (MVM). It presents the first ever sector wide strategy to shape the economics needed to safeguard independent media as a key pillar of democracy.
To participate in the event, we kindly ask you to register by submitting this form until 23 January 2025.
We look forward to engaging with you in this important conversation. In the meantime, you can learn more and download the MVM here: https://mediaviabilitymanifesto.org/.
